French green clay is a wonderful ingredient, with many benefits for your skin. Found in our Green Clay Cleansing Balm and Green Clay Face Mask, it has natural cleansing properties to improve a dull complexion and balance blemish-prone skin. Read more about why green clay is so good for your skin and how to include it as part of your skincare rituals.
What is Green Clay?
The French green clay we source and blend in our natural skincare takes its vibrant green colour from the clay's iron oxide and decomposed kelp and algae content. This clever clay is well known for its detoxifying skin care benefits and that's all due to its unique blend of minerals, including dolomite, manganese, silica and copper.
Green Clay Skin Benefits
The green clay contains negatively charged molecules which cling to the positively charged molecules in makeup, grime and impurities on your skin, gently whisking them away, while removing dead skin cells and leaving skin positively brighter and healthier. More benefits for your skin include:
Exfoliating skinDead skin cells are gently whisked away by the green clay, without any scrubbing, burning or stinging sensations that exfoliating actives typically have on the skin.
French green clay is particularly effective at drawing out impurities. When the Green Clay Cleansing Balm is used alongside the Organic Muslin Facial Cloth, the skin benefits from a double action, gentle exfoliation as the weave of the muslin gently removes dead skin cells, make-up, daily impurities and improves circulation.
By removing impurities and dead skin cells that can clog pores and contribute towards blemishes, green clay is an excellent balancing ingredient loved by sensitive, rosacea and acne-prone skins.
How to Use Green Clay?
Incorporate mineral-rich green clay into your daily cleansing rituals by enjoying the natural Green Clay Cleansing Balm in the evening, or as part of a double cleanse with the Raspberry Seed Cleansing Oil.
- Apply a scoop directly on to dry skin and over any make up including mascara, massaging gently into your skin, taking care around the delicate eye area.
- The balm will remove surface impurities such as dirt, sweat, pollution, bacteria and dead skin cell build-up without disrupting its natural protective oil and water barrier.
- Always remove with the Organic Muslin Face Cloth, not a towel or flannel, to effectively remove all traces of the balm. Pat skin with cold water to close the pores.
- Finish with a few drops of the Organic Facial Oil applied to slightly damp skin in upward circular motions, each morning and evening.
The Green Clay Cleansing Balm is handmade in the UK and is also blended with organic apricot oil to soften the skin and organic virgin coconut oil which removes all traces of make-up and supports the health of the skin due to its antibacterial, antifungal and antioxidant benefits.
