Choose beauty products with recyclable packaging
One of the simplest steps you can make towards a low-carbon future for our planet? Adding a recycling bin to your bathroom. I was shocked to discover only 50 per cent of our recyclable bathroom waste is recycled versus 90 percent in our kitchen. If everyone recycled one more toilet roll tube it would save enough to go round the M25 38 times while recycling just one bleach bottle saves enough energy to power a street light for 6.5 hours, according to Recycle Now.

Use upcycled skincare ingredients
I'm always on the lookout for new, innovative ingredients to power our By Sarah London products and the way they're sourced is so important to me. Some of our hero ingredients, such as hemp seed oil and raspberry seed oil, are surplus from the food and juicing industry which we save from heading to landfill. The oil is extracted using a cold, low energy, solvent-free process. No new materials created; no existing resources wasted.
