Happy birthday to us! Today marks four years since By Sarah London was born... and what an incredible four years it's been.
Here, we take a look back at some of our highlights...
Sharing our story in The Times
As many of you will know, By Sarah London was created after Sarah began developing her own plant-powered blends to help Lauren's fragile skin following treatment for life-threatening leukaemia. Having been on such a journey and as a brand born out of sheer sisterhood, it was a real honour to be able to share our story in The Times back in 2019 – a piece that really captured the essence of By Sarah London.
'Our press coverage now spans so many amazing titles, including Vogue and The Telegraph, but we still get so much joy every time we see our products appearing online or in print. It's so brilliant to know that our brand is loved, not just by customers, but by many industry experts, too,' says Sarah.
Four consecutive awards for Hero Facial Oil
The By Sarah London virtual trophy cabinet is pretty glittering now with an astonishing 16 industry-leading awards to our name.
'Our standout? By Sarah London Hero Facial Oil winning 'Best Facial Oil' in the esteemed Beauty Shortlist Awards for a whopping four years running. Yep, it scooped first place in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 consecutively!' comments Lauren.
Upcycled hemp seed oil – a UK skincare first
Research and development has always been at the heart of By Sarah London. Even when Sarah was solely making her blends for Lauren, she would spent months experimenting with the very best oils to support her sister's sensitive skin.
'This, combined with our passion for sustainability, meant we were so proud to launch a UK skincare first in 2020 in the form of our innovative upcycled hemp seed oil,' explains Sarah.
Used in our Ally Blemish Recovery Oil, the ingredient is grown on UK soil and contains 52 per cent more antioxidants than standard hemp seed oil. Originally grown for use in the food industry, we rescue the waste hemp seeds from going to landfill. We are the first UK skincare brand to source and formulate the oil in this way.
The Ponytail Challenge
2020 was the year we launched The Ponytail Challenge in partnership with The Little Princess Trust – a charity we are official partners and ambassadors for.
'When I lost my hair following my battle with acute myeloid leukaemia, The Little Princess Trust sent me a real hair wig. Eight years on, in an act of gratitude and defiance in the face of adversity, we were both thrilled to donate our own hair to the charity while inviting you all to take part in the #bysarahponytailchallenge, too.
This was such a poignant moment for me. It really highlighted how far I'd come on my journey and I felt so honoured to be able to repay the generosity of the charity, of which I'm now a Trustee,' says Lauren.

We're so proud of our famous fans, including Deliciously Ella and Melissa Hemsley, but its you – our loyal customers – who inspire us to grow our brand each and every day.
'Hearing how our blends have transformed your complexions, helped you on your sensitive skin journeys and supported fellow cancer survivors during their toughest moments is what truly keeps us going,' says Lauren.
We've now garnered an unbelievable 1400 independent reviews on Feefo, the majority of which have been five-star. We even won the Feefo Platinum Trusted Service Award this year for a consistently excellent customer experience.
