A love letter to planet Earth

We wanted to take a moment to express our love and gratitude to our planet Earth. Our journey in creating By Sarah has always been intertwined with a deep respect for nature and a commitment to sustainability. As we celebrate love, it's only fitting that we highlight the ways in which we, at By Sarah, are honouring and protecting our planet through our products and practices.

Becoming a B Corp

At By Sarah, sustainability isn't just a buzzword; it's at the heart of everything we do. We are proud to be a certified B Corporation, which means we meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental sustainability. This prestigious certification reflects our commitment to using By Sarah as a force for good. We believe that skincare should be as kind to the earth as it is to our skin. This belief is reflected in every step of our process, from sourcing ingredients to packaging and shipping.

Ethical sourcing

The ingredients we use are sourced with the utmost care. This approach not only results in higher-quality ingredients for our skincare, but also supports the people and land from which these ingredients come.

Our zero waste hemp seed oil, found in our Ally Recovery Facial Oil, is an innovative and sustainably sourced ingredient that is saved from landfill. The hemp seeds are grown and harvested in the UK by hand, and a large proportion of these are rejected because they don't meet the specifications for food use.

Rather than disposing these in landfill, the nutrient-rich seeds are rescued and cold-pressed into the oil we use. This means no existing resources are wasted.

Cruelty-free and vegan

We believe that skincare shouldn't damage your skin, or harm any animals. All By Sarah products are certified with Cruelty Free International, and you can see the Leaping Bunny logo proudly displayed on our bottles. This certification guarantees that no animal testing is conducted at any stage of our product development.

Our entire collection is also registered with The Vegan Society, providing you with the peace of mind that our products are free from any animal-derived ingredients.

Sustainable packaging

Packaging plays a crucial role in our sustainability commitments. We use amber glass bottles for our products to both protect the integrity of the formulations, and to allow for the packaging to be fully recycled. Our shipping materials are also sustainable - we use recycled cardboard boxes and FSC-approved paper, removing the need for single-use plastics in our shipment packing.

Spreading awareness

Beyond our products, we want to spread awareness about sustainable living. Through our journal, social media and community, we share tips and insights on how to live more consciously. We believe that small, collective actions can lead to significant positive changes for our planet.
