We are delighted to share the news that By Sarah is now a patron of the British Beauty Council. As a small business with a big heart, we are thrilled that we can play an active role in supporting the BBCo's mission to bring positive change to the beauty industry and so proud to assist with the incredible work of a non-profit organisation with such a strong purpose.
Why we chose the British Beauty Council?
We first met Millie Kendall MBE, the CEO of the British Beauty Council, when we were named as finalists of the Next British Beauty Brand in 2019, and knew then it was a very special organisation that we would love to support. Now, as patrons, it is a real privilege and honour to be able to do just that.
From Lauren experiencing her own skin transform with the benefits of our scientifically-driven natural skincare after treatment for leukaemia, to seeing how the mental health of our customers has improved since finding relief in our skincare, we know the importance of beauty is so much more than meets the eye.
The British Beauty Council was founded to represent the voices of the British beauty industry – across all areas from media and formulation to education and retail. It's an inclusive organisation that works to engage leading decision makers, including politicians and business leaders, about the value of British beauty to the national economy, and its key role in the UK’s creative and cultural character. Its ambition is to ensure that the beauty industry is recognised and valued at all levels of government, throughout the wider economy and by consumers.
What it means to be a patron?
As a non-profit organisation, the British Beauty Council relies wholly on the support of its patrons to continue driving positive change in the beauty industry. From industry reports to educational programmes, the involvement of its patrons is integral to ensuring its continued development and success. This is our first patronage at By Sarah and we are delighted that it is with such a remarkable and renowned organisation.
How we can support the British Beauty Council?
The British Beauty Council has three key pillars to help drive forward its key strategy areas: Reputation, Education and Innovation. We are excited to support its initiatives, including:
- Striving to be a force for good, recognising the industry's contribution to wellbeing
- Driving the diversity and inclusion agenda in the beauty industry, including gender, age, race, disability and social mobility
- Understanding, encouraging and championing proactive change in sustainable beauty
- Working with the government to highlight the beauty industry's desire to become net zero and develop a programme for SMEs (small or medium-sized enterprises) culminating in participation at COP26 (the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference)
What it means for By Sarah?
This is an exciting chapter in the growth of By Sarah. It means we can have a wider impact, using our voice to support the British Beauty Council's mission to be a force for good in creating a supportive, inclusive and innovative beauty industry.
