You'll find apricot oil in our By Sarah skincare range, Dermatologically-Approved for sensitive skin, and meticulously formulated in the UK. Here's why we love apricot oil's skin-nourishing benefits and it will become one of the ingredients you'll love too.
Sourcing apricot oil
So how is it sourced? Apricot oil is extracted from the kernels (seeds) of apricots. The oil can be obtained from kernels using solvent extraction or a cold pressed method. We use cold-pressed apricot oil because this ensures that the chemical compounds in the oil are not altered in any way. Very, very important to ensure the highest-quality in our natural skincare.
When an ingredient can be grown in soil, we choose ingredients certified by COSMOS natural and The Soil Association wherever possible. You can read more about our values when selecting ingredients in our commitments. And did you know that our skincare is Dermatologically Approved for Sensitive Skin? We avoid synthetic fragrances, essential oils and ingredients known to irritate sensitive skin. And so apricot oil fits the bill perfectly.
Apricot Oil's Skin Benefits
1. Softens skin
Apricot oil is light and easily absorbed because it resembles the skin's naturally-produced oil sebum. Apricot oil helps to improve skin tone, maintain softness and radiance of the skin. It also nourishes the skin and lowers the appearance of face wrinkles, fine lines and blemishes (that's the Vitamin C and E working in partnership - and for more on those powerhouse ingredients, take a look at our Vitamin C+E Booster).
2. Promotes radiance
Apricot oil is also naturally high in Vitamin E which boosts the skin’s ability to retain elasticity and clarity by helping to protect cells from damaging free radicals (such as environmental pollutants), promoting a more radiant complexion. And that's one of the many reasons why we include apricot oil in our vegan and certified cruelty-free Hero Facial Oil. Which is also an Indy Best Buy winner for 2024, 2023 & 2022!
3. Provides deep nourishment
Apricot oil is light and quickly makes skin soft and smooth (that's due to its natural Vitamin A content); it percolates deep into the skin and provides long-lasting moisturisation. Its fatty acids act as non-greasy emollients to nourish and restore dry skin.
So there it is, 3 things you now know about apricot oil - and why we love the benefits of apricot oil so much. See how soft and healthy your skin feels by enjoying this natural ingredient in our cult favourite Hero Facial Oil.
