How to use a hydrating face mist in your skincare routine

Sorbets, sheets, jellies and gels... with countless different formats to choose from, the skincare world can be confusing at the best of times. And that's without deciding what order to use everything in. That's why at By Sarah, we're passionate about keeping our carefully-curated skincare collection streamlined and simple, yet seriously effective.

Blended with the finest natural and clinically-proven ingredients, healthy happy skin is at the heart of our business.

When we launch a new product, you can be sure it will fit seamlessly into your existing By Sarah skincare routine – and our Reviver Hydrating Mist, that's suitable for all skin types, is no exception.

Here, we explain exactly how our prebiotic innovation can work for you and when to use the face mist...

When should you use a face mist?

When it comes to skincare, we champion a pared-back approach with multi-tasking formulas that can be layered up or mixed and matched to suit you, your complexion and your lifestyle. So, where does our new Reviver Hydrating Mist come in? Another beautifully hard-working multi-use product, this lightweight spritz can be applied in a number of different ways.

In the morning, we love using it on a clean face straight after cleansing as a revitalising pick-me-up that perfectly preps the skin for makeup. For hotter days or when you need a quick wake-up boost, pop the Reviver in the fridge for a few minutes and spritz for an extra cooling treat. Follow up with the Hero Facial Oil, or Ally Recovery Facial Oil to help soothe blemishes

The hydration mist is dreamy to use at night, too. After a good cleanse with our Balancer Cream Cleanser, spritz all over with the Reviver and enjoy the calming, comforting sensation at the end of a long day.

On hot days, you'll adore the refreshing pep-up whilst the Reviver's glow-boosting powers come into their own during that 3pm slump when your foundation's looking as lacklustre as you feel.

Can you spray a face mist on top of makeup?

Not all facial mists will work over makeup but we specifically formulated ours to ensure it does – and beautifully so!

The spray delivers a fine veil that won't cling to dry patches or sit obviously on top of the skin. While it's jam-packed with skin-loving ingredients that restore and repair, we've formulated with those that are featherweight and non-greasy. Think juicy aloe leaf extract and natural fruit waters. It's also free from fragrance and essential oils so there's no need to worry about skin irritation, even if you're rosacea or eczema-prone.

What does a face mist do?

While many facial spritzes simply offer a refreshing sensation, our high-science formulation works on a much deeper level to boost skin, not just now but later, too.

Inspired by conversations and consultations with our By Sarah community, this is so much more than a mist. With clinically-proven ingredients including prebiotic inulin, it hydrates and repairs skin while actively working to replenish your skin’s microbiome and strengthen its barrier function.

What ingredients are used in the Reviver?

As with all the entire By Sarah collection, we've selected the very best in skin-boosting ingredients for our hydrating face mist. The stars? Prebiotic inulin, L-arginine and cranberry extract - the powerhouse trio.

Prebiotic inulin helps to maintain a balanced skin microbiome for a resilient skin barrier, whilst L-arginine boosts the skin's natural moisture retention, resulting in a plumper, smoother texture. Its anti-inflammatory properties also aid in soothing and calming the skin, working with the antioxidants from cranberry extract to shield your skin from oxidative stress and promote a more radiant and even skin tone.

The result? A clearer, calmer, more radiant complexion. Now that's what we call a skin saviour.
