Q&A with Madeleine Shaw

By Sarah London Madeline Shaw

What fuels your passion for wellness and the power of healthy food and movement?

Feeling good is what fuels my passion for wellness. When I look after myself through what I eat and making time to move I feel like superwoman. I have more energy, I am more able to adapt to my surroundings and I don’t sweat the small stuff as much.

What's your advice for making the healthiest choices for mind and body every day?

Tune into what your body is craving, it’s probably calling out for what it needs whether that’s a meditative moment to calm and settle or getting up moving because you feel energised. Don’t force yourself to do things you don’t enjoy because you believe it’s healthy. I really believe that it’s healthy to do what you love, so find a form of movement that gets you excited, or your favourite healthy foods, to make looking after yourself something you enjoy rather than a chore.

What's your favourite autumnal go-to recipe? And the best way to reduce food waste?

The best way to reduce food waste is to use your freezer! Whether that’s freezing leftover curries, stews or sauces or freezing fruits, veggies and leftover bread it means you’ll always have food to eat and it extends the shelf life so much! My autumnal go to is a delicious soup like my squash, truffle and leek soup it’s so easy, so comforting and freezes really well.

How do you balance your busy schedule and family life with your own well-being?

I haven’t always been like this, but as I’ve become older, I’ve learned to say no and prioritise. I’m realising that it’s better to do less, but be 100% present in everything you do than trying to juggle more than you can manage.

By Sarah London Organic Facial Oil

What's your favourite BY SARAH skincare to enjoy at home?

I am obsessed with the Organic Facial Oil it’s so hydrating and helps keep my skin healthy and glowing.

How do you keep your glow during the autumn months?

I use a light alarm clock so I wake up gradually to what feels like a sunrise rather than a noisy alarm which always sets me up for a good day. I make sure I keep up my movement whether it’s yoga at home or a studio class. And I nourish my body with stews and curries full of garlic and ginger to keep colds away.

What does the rest of 2019 have in store?

Hopefully more of doing what I love, creating recipes, podcasts and blogs to help people live healthier and happier lives. I’d love to talk more about topics that get less attention such as female health, our sex lives and relationships and using my platform to share information on the topics I think we should be speaking mroe about.
