Sarah ready to take her bike for a spin in Oxfordshire

June brought with it the first flushes of real summer - days of blue skies and warm evenings! When you see nature up close, you realise how beautiful and precious it is and how important it is to conserve it. It's why Sarah and I made the decision to create plant-based skincare using only the very finest, certified-organic ingredients. 

The highest-quality ingredients flourish in the highest-quality, organic soil

It's easy not to think of the whole picture or the full impact of our consumer decisions - you see a product you like and buy it. Simple. But we can give ourselves a little more thinking time and interrogate our often automatic choices by asking a few questions: Do I need this? How does this help me? What is the impact on the planet? 

Choosing products with only natural ingredients over man-made, synthetic, artificial and chemically-laden products is a step in the right direction. But choosing organic products over natural, elevates this choice even more, and here's why - in the case of the plant-based ingredients we use: 

• they are certified-organic by The Soil Association which means each one has flourished under the strictest requirements of organic farming: synthetic pesticides, artificial chemical fertilisers, herbicides and GM crops are prohibited
• certified-organic ingredients are grown in a way that protects the soil, respects animal welfare and minimises pollution
• the end result is that the quality of the ingredient is not compromised, meaning richer nutrients for your skin

It's a win win - choosing products with certified-organic ingredients is better for the environment and better for your skin!

As June rolls into July and then August, and the long days of summer bring butterflies to our days, take a second to think about the choices you're making and see if there's more space for organic products on your bathroom shelf.
