Why You Don't Need a Face Scrub

Scrub out the Face Scrub

You've been told for so long that you need a face scrub to exfoliate your skin. But here's the thing: you don't need a scrub at all. And, in some cases, they can cause more harm than good. The formulas of many face scrubs include ingredients that have rough, jagged edges used to exfoliate the skin that can be so abrasive that they leave skin irritated, red and inflamed.

Let's not forget that we are Nature. Our skin undergoes natural exfoliation by skin cell renewal and replacement around every 28 days. So it's rarely necessary to further accelerate this process by using scrubs or even peels.

Here's how to cleanse your skin in a way that supports your skin, without the need for abrasive face scrubs.

Step 1

Enjoy the Balancer Oil-to-milk Cleanser to firstly remove any makeup (including eye makeup) and sunscreen. In upward and outward sweeping motions, take the time to gently massage the hydrating cleansing oil into your face and neck. Splash your face with some warm water to create a light, cleansing milk and rinse.

Step 2

Repeat step 1 to remove any excess dirt, sweat, pollution, bacteria and dead skin cell build-up. Enjoy with the Organic Muslin Facial Cloth as you gently exfoliate your skin. Finish with a spritz of the Reviver Hydrating Mist and finish with a few drops of your favourite By Sarah London facial oil.

As we always say, less really is more - when you effectively cleanse your skin and support that all important skin barrier and biome with beautiful plant oils, there's no need for jagged, abrasive face scrubs. Care for your skin mindfully and gently.
