Benefits of raspberry seed oil for skin
Our award-winning Balancer Oil-to-milk Cleanser is bursting with upcycled raspberry seed oil, the sustainable and highly efficacious plant oil, rich in antioxidant polyphenols and anti-inflammatory omegas. Let's dive into why it's a skin saviour for sensitive, stressed skin this summer and beyond.
Why use raspberry oil in a cleanser?
When looking for the best natural ingredients for our Balancer Oil-to-milk Cleanser, we chose red raspberry seeds. They contain high levels of essential fatty acids, particularly omega 3 and omega 6 which help to promote the skin's health and appearance. The red raspberry seeds also provide a natural source of vitamin E, which helps to prevent damage caused by free radicals from environmental stressors. Cleanse your skin while promoting the health of your skin over the long-term with this fruity oil.
What are the skin benefits of raspberry oil?
There are many benefits of using raspberry seed oil, including:
- High level of natural vitamin E, containing 20% more tocopherols than ordinary raspberry seed oil
- Increased hydration
- Increased barrier function and integrity, due to high levels of essential fatty acids
- Natural defence against free radical damage from environmental stressors, such as UV radiation or pollution
- Leaves skin feeling soft and hydrated
Why is Vitamin E important for the skin?
Vitamin E is an integral part of the skin’s natural antioxidant defences, primarily providing protection against free radicals that are in the environment. Tocopherols are the most abundant form of vitamin E in the body. Studies show that raspberries contain just over 200mg/100g total tocopherol content, significantly outweighing other seed oils, such as blueberry and strawberry.
Our upcycled raspberry seeds contain up to 250mg/100g tocopherol content, nearly 20% more than ordinary raspberry seeds.
What are the benefits of essential fatty acids for skin?
Omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids are crucial to healthy skin function and appearance. Rich in both essential fatty acids, raspberries are an excellent free radical scavenger, helping to protect the skin from daily environmental stress and prevent skin damage.
Omega-3 fatty acids help the skin retain moisture, regulate oil production, and maintain elasticity. Together with omega-6, these fatty acids also influence the skin-soothing response of the skin.
Omega-6 has a particular role in structural integrity and barrier function of the skin. They also work to nourish and protect the skin without being too heavy. Based on studies, the levels of omega-6 fatty acids in raspberry oil are higher compared with blueberry seed oil, cranberry seed oil, kiwi seed oil and strawberry seed oil.

How is raspberry seed oil made?
Sustainably sourced and produced, the raspberry seed oil in our Balancer Oil-to-milk Cleanser is made from upcycled raspberry seeds, a by-product from the juicing industry and diverted from food waste. Instead of sending the leftovers to landfill, the waste is reused, working to naturally concentrate the active micronutrients that are already present within the fresh fruit pulp.
The oil is extracted from the seeds of the leftover pulp which is set aside and stored, being careful to avoid any loss of nutrients. It is then upcycled into our luxurious, sustainable active oil. No new materials created. No existing resources wasted. The oil is extracted from the seeds through a cold, low energy, solvent-free process, which allows the natural potency of the fruits to be maintained and ensures the highest quality oil is produced.
