Earth Day 2018: End Plastic Pollution

Earth Day is This Sunday! It’s the world's largest environmental movement and the campaign this year is "A World Without Plastic Pollution". Plastic, plastic everywhere. It's the lament of our modern times and is one of the biggest environmental problems we face. Plastics are a problem mainly because they are not biodegradable; they are produced from oil and natural gas extraction; and it is challenging to discard them properly.  A really sobering prediction I read was that if nothing changes in our plastic consumption habits, by 2050 there will be more plastic in the oceans than there are fish (by weight) (New Plastics Economy Report, 2016).  And the real blow is that it's something we - often unwittingly - contribute...

Meet Sarah Fretwell - writer, yoga teacher, content creator and painting & drawing enthusiast!

We had the pleasure of meeting with Sarah Fretwell to learn more about her passion for yoga and why there's much more to asana than we think... Tell us a little about yourself and what inspired your passion for yoga?I started yoga almost ten years ago, when I was travelling in Ghana actually. I remember feeling really stiff from all the backpacking so I did a few YouTube yoga flows in my little travel lodge. I’ve since developed a huge passion for yoga, which led me to sign up to a teacher training with appleyoga back in 2013 - weirdly, I just knew it was what I was meant to do. I’ve always loved physical exercise and am naturally very...

Highlights of March 2018

It's that time again, the monthly round-up! March was such a fantastic month at BY SARAH HQ! One of our favourite collaborations was with Lululemon in their Marylebone, London store. After a boxing and yoga class, we met with the class members and joined the positive energy over a green smoothie! It was a pleasure to catch up with some familiar faces (Milla Lascelles and Lilo from Honey & Roots) and meet some new ones too! We always love to meet people and share our story and mission - and the reception to our natural and organic skin care collection was wonderful! Thank you, Lululemon!  Me (left) and Sarah (right) at the Lululemon event I was invited to join the...

6 Healthy Habits that won't break the bank, by guest writer, Milla Lascelles

My clients are constantly telling me that maintaining a healthy lifestyle along with eating healthy food is so expensive and not enough is done on affordability. I'm here to squash this belief.  I think sometimes we need to step back from the fancy designer gym gear, superfoods, protein powders, pricey metal bottles, acai bowls at £8 a pop, superfood smoothies with a sprinkle of coconut bacon and bee pollen with a shot of Aloe. Remember cosmopolitan cities tend to glamorise the health industry and can make it seem potentially Faddy at times. You can still care for yourself and be healthy and give your body all that it needs to heal and thrive without the designer price tags. Let me show...
